Whether you're organizing a conference, trade show, or corporate event, custom lanyards can serve as a valuable tool for identification, branding, and attendee engagement.

Checklist for Creating Effective Custom Lanyards

1. Define the Purpose of Your Lanyards

• Identification: For conferences and events where attendee identification is crucial, consider lanyards with badge holders or ID cards.
• Branding: Custom lanyards can be a great way to reinforce your brand or event theme. Choose colors and designs that align with your branding strategy.
• Promotional: Use lanyards as a promotional item to offer to attendees, potentially with a sponsor's logo or message.

2. Choose the Right Material

• Nylon or Polyester: Durable and easy to clean, these are popular choices for custom lanyards.
• Woven or Printed: Decide between woven lanyards for a more subtle, textured look or printed lanyards for vibrant colors and detailed designs.
• Eco-friendly Options: Consider eco-friendly materials for events focused on sustainability.

3. Select the Appropriate Length and Width

• Standard Length: Typically around 36 inches, suitable for most adults.
• Width: Common widths range from 0.5 to 1.5 inches, depending on the intended use and design.

4. Design Your Lanyards

• Color Scheme: Ensure the colors match your event's branding.
• Logo and Text: Clearly define what logo and text should be included, considering the size and placement.
• Safety Considerations: For events with children or in settings where lanyards might pose a hazard, consider breakaway lanyards or those with safety releases.

5. Consider Lanyard and Badge Sets

• Convenience: Offering lanyards with pre-attached badges can streamline the check-in process and enhance the attendee experience.
• Customization: Ensure that both the lanyard and badge can be customized to fit your event's needs.

6. Order in Advance

• Lead Time: Place your order well in advance to ensure timely delivery, especially for large quantities.
• Rush Orders: If you're close to the event date, look for a supplier like PrintsPros that offers rush ordering options.
